Master Bathroom Update

October 27, 2014October 26, 20141 Comment

Back when I first made plans for the master bathroom it included painting half the wall black and that's exactly what I did. I had a can of black paint leftover from a myriad of projects so I used that and got the walls done in one afternoon. Because textured walls were invented by satan, … Continue reading Master Bathroom Update

Backyard Update

May 23, 2014May 22, 20141 Comment

Last week I gave you an update on the front yard so now it's time to show you the back once again. It's pretty crazy the changes that have happened back here just since February, most of it having to do with things actually blooming and looking alive but I can't even begin to count … Continue reading Backyard Update

At Last I’ve Seen the Light!

May 7, 20142 Comments

We have lived without a light over our dining room table for about 4 months now. All that has been there is the electrical wiring sticking out of the ceiling. Attractive, I know, but I didn't want to spend money on just any old pendant; I wanted it to be something fun and unique that … Continue reading At Last I’ve Seen the Light!

House Plans: The Office

April 16, 2014April 16, 2014Leave a comment

Today is the final installment of the House Plans series and it's filled with wondrous plans of organization and shelving up the wazoo. The office is definitely on the top of the priority list because I store a lot of supplies in there that are desperately calling out to be neatly placed on shelves. Here's … Continue reading House Plans: The Office

House Plans: The Bedroom

April 14, 2014April 2, 2014Leave a comment

Today's installment of House Plans is our bedroom! I love walking into this room (when there isn't an explosion of clothes) because it's so bright and relaxing. The white walls, warm wood texture, and lack of furniture are what make that happen. However there are a few things that still need to be done to … Continue reading House Plans: The Bedroom

House Plans: The Bathrooms

April 11, 2014April 2, 20141 Comment

Wednesday I started the House Plans series where I am breaking down the rooms in my house and sharing the plans I have for them. Today is all about the bathrooms. My husband would not argue with me when I say these are his favorite rooms in the entire house. Many of the things we … Continue reading House Plans: The Bathrooms

House Plans: The Kitchen and Living Room

April 9, 2014April 2, 2014Leave a comment

I mentioned in my full home tour that I would go more in depth as to the plans we have for specific areas in our house. Today is all about the kitchen and living room. I love my kitchen. A lot. I have so many cabinets that I don't know what to do with myself. Most … Continue reading House Plans: The Kitchen and Living Room

The Full Home Tour

April 7, 2014April 2, 20142 Comments

The day is here for a full home tour post. I have been very hesitant to do this because my house is absolutely no where near being done, or even close to that point. However, I knew that I should do it so that you can come along with me in this journey into making … Continue reading The Full Home Tour

Our Backyard: Progress and Plans

February 12, 2014February 13, 20146 Comments

I love taking advantage of nice days because I get to go out do yard work. If my parents are reading this they are probably rolling their eyes and shaking their heads in disgust because I never felt this way about yard work when I lived with them, but when it's your own home it's … Continue reading Our Backyard: Progress and Plans

Hello! I’m Sharaya

Olive and James found a deer skeleton in the woods and yesterday she brought it in to get a closer look. One of the gifts God gave me this past year was a fresh perspective and renewed love for motherhood that had been dimmed by health issues, postpartum anxiety and rage, and not enough time in prayer and the word. Three years ago I would have said there’s no way I could homeschool Olive. “We fight too much”, “we would just butt heads”, “she’s too strong-willed”, etc., were all the reasons I thought it wouldn’t work. Today we learned about St. Lucia Day; the Swedish Christmas tradition that celebrates St. Lucia for her bravery, strong faith, and generosity.
